Case Study: Satair achieves a scalable digital marketplace and zero inventory risk with SAP Commerce Cloud

A SAP Commerce Cloud Case Study

Preview of the Satair Case Study

How using SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Commerce Marketplace Management by Mirakl helped Satair to transform the B2B buying of aviation spare parts from an ordering process to a consumer-grade customer experience

Satair, a global leader in aftermarket services for civil aviation, needed to digitalize traditional sales and ordering while managing more than one million part numbers. The company wanted to expand its e-commerce offering without tying up additional working capital and enable customers to sell surplus and used parts. To meet these goals, Satair selected SAP Commerce Cloud along with SAP Commerce Marketplace Management by Mirakl (and SAP Analytics Cloud) to deliver a modern, cloud-based commerce and marketplace platform.

Using SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Commerce Marketplace Management by Mirakl, Satair launched a marketplace where suppliers carry additional stock until purchase, eliminating inventory risk for the expanded catalog and enabling customers to list surplus parts. The result: the product offering grew from 1 million to more than 5 million parts, with 100% of inventory risk for the expanded catalog mitigated, more than 5 million product searches annually, over 2 million visits a year, faster order-to-deliver processes, improved customer satisfaction, and four gold Danish Digital Awards.
