Becoming an Intelligent Enterprise to Aid Compliance and Enhance Business Insights

VIS (Vátryggingafélag Íslands hf.) is an Icelandic insurer aiming to “make insurance easy” by becoming a digital services organization, but it needed real-time data and a modern ERP to support faster decision-making. Facing a complex software landscape, data-integration challenges, and an outdated user interface, VIS engaged SAP Commerce Cloud (working with partner Origo) to modernize its ERP using SAP S/4HANA and related SAP technologies.

SAP Commerce Cloud supported implementation of SAP S/4HANA and consolidated VIS’s SAP services and data in SAP HANA, delivered in about five months. The result was a standardized, single source of truth with higher data quality and availability, reduced IT complexity, and faster workflows — including ~70% faster financial report generation (minutes to seconds), 20% faster finance tasks, and 20% faster annual audits — while improving transparency and employee productivity.
