PLDT Inc., the Philippines’ largest integrated telecommunications provider, faced significant procurement and supply‑chain inefficiencies that contributed to a budget overrun in 2022 across site rollouts, transport and ports projects. PLDT deployed SAP Ariba, SAP Business Network and SAP S/4HANA—migrating legacy SRM and supplier management into a single digital Source‑to‑Pay platform and rolling out seven Ariba solutions in 22 weeks. The transformation delivered central spend visibility, high adoption (96% of sourcing events, 99% contract reviews, 100% POs/invoices in 2023), a 15% reduction in PR‑to‑PO cycle time, management of 4,600+ suppliers, ~$6.4B in network spend and material cost savings (including ~P4.5B / US$81M CAPEX savings in 2023 and broader procurement value upwards of US$150M), contributing to improved financial and operational performance.
