The City of Memphis needed better visibility to service citizen requests safely and efficiently, while also improving driver safety and protecting assets. Using Samsara’s Connected Operations Platform, including Video-Based Safety and vehicle telematics, the city set out to centralize data and gain real-time operational insight across its Public Works and broader fleet operations.

Samsara helped the City of Memphis roll out more than 500 AI dash cams, integrate with ArcGIS, and use AI-based coaching to reduce risky driving behavior. As a result, distracted driving dropped by 75%, response times improved, and the city saved $40,000 in lost assets through faster equipment recovery, while also protecting employees from false claims and avoiding costly insurance payouts.
