How the City of Atlanta Increased Efficiency with Remote Visibility

The City of Atlanta’s Department of Aviation needed better visibility into airfield mowing to stay compliant with FAA regulations at Atlanta Airport, the world’s busiest airport. Before Samsara, the team relied on manual work orders and line-of-sight supervision, making it difficult to confirm that grass was being cut properly and on time.

Using Samsara’s open API and Asset Gateways, the city connected real-time data to its Cityworks maintenance system, added geofences and alerts, and automated notifications when mowing started and finished. Samsara helped managers reduce time spent inspecting activity, monitor mower speed for proper cutting height, and create a permanent record of mowing operations, improving efficiency and confidence in FAA compliance.
