East Allen County Schools (EACS), a K–12 district serving about 7,000 students and running 132 daily routes, struggled to adjust routes, find substitute drivers, and keep parents informed during driver shortages because drivers lacked real-time GPS, on-board directions, and dispatchers couldn’t monitor route progress.

EACS implemented Edulog routing with Samsara Vehicle Gateways and Samsung Android tablets, replacing hardwired telematics and custom devices; drivers use the Samsara Driver App and built‑in Wi‑Fi for routes and inspections. The off‑the‑shelf solution cut tablet hardware costs by roughly two‑thirds, reduced driver training to about two hours, sped up unexpected runs, and improved route performance and parent communication.
