A Samanage Case Study
Rankin County School District launched a 1-to-1 laptop initiative for nearly 20,000 students across 28 schools and needed a scalable, easy-to-manage incident and asset management system after their homegrown work-order tool became unsupported. The district also wanted to consolidate IT, facilities, and maintenance requests into a single platform that student tech teams and IT staff could reliably use.
They implemented Samanage Service Desk, importing historical tickets, building automated workflows, a service catalog, and using OneLogin for asset-user tracking while restricting access via roles. The platform streamlined ticket handling through student tech teams, improved asset visibility and records, cut backlog and turnaround times, and helped expand student learning opportunities (e.g., graphic design and yearbook projects).
