Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) is a Sylmar, California–based non‑profit that equips volunteers to deliver food to people in need. CHF found its on‑premise Spiceworks setup noisy, ad‑filled and difficult to maintain, with duplicate inventory records and limited ability to associate incidents with problems or track changes—forcing IT staff to spend too much time managing the database instead of assets.
CHF replaced Spiceworks with Samanage for its ITIL alignment, simplicity and cost-effectiveness; deployment and data import were straightforward with strong vendor support. The integrated service desk and asset management eliminated custom database overhead, improved visibility into problems (including linking multiple incidents to a single problem), enabled change tracking, sped problem resolution, and let the organization refocus resources on its core mission of delivering food.
