A Salesforce Case Study
Year Up is a national nonprofit that trains low-income young adults (ages 18–24) for careers in finance and technology, helping to close the “Opportunity Divide” between unemployed youth and companies seeking talent. As the organization rapidly expanded across multiple cities, leadership needed to become data‑driven and quickly unify student, staff, donor, and partner information to track outcomes from application through employment.
Year Up implemented Salesforce—using Sales Cloud to centralize student records, Chatter to connect students, staff, and internship partners, and Service Cloud cases to manage student support—so the organization could monitor each student’s progress and coordinate services. The result: Year Up now operates in 11 cities, trains over 2,000 students annually, and reports that 84% of graduates are employed or attending college within four months of graduating.
