VMware’s new business takes off on a new marketing platform

VMware, a long-standing leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, needed to launch VMware Cloud—a 17-product portfolio—at its annual VMworld conference and had just 90 days to build a new, unified marketing platform. The company faced fragmented systems (multiple Salesforce instances and disparate campaign tools) and needed a consistent, scalable way to reach new and existing customers quickly.

VMware chose to standardize on Salesforce solutions (Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud, Pardot) and partnered with Success Cloud to accelerate integration and implementation. In 90 days they built an automated lead-to-onboarding journey—using Pardot for trial requests and onboarding, Sales Cloud dashboards for fulfillment, and Marketing Cloud/Social Studio for outreach—and launched successfully at VMworld. The platform cut integration costs, sped execution, improved cross-team collaboration, and gave VMware greater agility and confidence in future launches.
