The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) provides technology solutions and guidance to state agencies, local governments, and schools across Texas. Faced with the typical slow pace of government IT adoption, DIR needed a simple, fast and cost-effective way to deliver modern, mobile-ready apps that enable agencies to serve citizens and support work‑from‑home and BYOD strategies.
DIR adopted a Salesforce-first approach using Salesforce App Cloud to rapidly build and deploy apps—starting with procurement and expanding to asset tracking, budgeting, help desks, legislative bill tracking, timesheets and more. The result: 25+ apps available to 125+ state agencies and thousands of local entities, development timelines cut from an estimated 18 months to about three weeks, lower staffing costs by empowering administrators to build solutions, and predictable costs while expanding functionality and mobile access.
