Penske Logistics moves to Lightning rapidly with help from Success Cloud

Penske Logistics, a global leader in transportation and supply chain solutions, set out to modernize its sales platform by moving from Sales Cloud to Salesforce Lightning to give reps a more intuitive interface and mobile tools. Nicole Rothermel, Director of Sales Solutions, led the effort but faced organizational challenges: multiple divisions shared the same Salesforce org, some groups had complex customizations, and not all were ready to switch.

Using change management—senior leadership buy-in, a three-month pilot, and clear communication—Penske partnered with Success Cloud (a dedicated success manager, Salesforce experts, and the Lightning Now community) to plan and execute the rollout. The move reached more than 500 users in 2017 and produced measurable gains: 12% more sales activities logged and a 41% increase in mobile adoption, enabling reps to work more nimbly in the field.
