A Salesforce Case Study
Nevada Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), tasked with protecting public health across the state, confronted the opioid crisis while managing constrained, time‑limited federal funding and a fragmented naloxone supply chain. The challenge was to get naloxone to the most vulnerable Nevadans, track multiple funding streams and shipments, avoid product expiry, and demonstrate responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
DHHS implemented the Naloxone Virtual Dispensary on the Salesforce Platform to onboard distribution centers, manage orders and inventory, log funding sources, trigger low‑stock alerts, and enable just‑in‑time redistribution. The system improved real‑time reporting and funding accountability, reduced waste and purchasing costs, freed staff to focus on training and stigma reduction, and captured 277 voluntary reports of overdose reversals—direct evidence of lives saved.
