Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN) is a statewide nonprofit that connects healthcare providers to improve care coordination and reduce costs. Faced with fragmented provider data and costly medication-related problems—estimated in the billions annually—MiHIN needed a way to track relationships among doctors, hospitals, and patients so clinicians get the right information when they need it.
MiHIN built a Health Provider Directory on the Salesforce Platform using Sales Cloud to manage 275,000+ providers, create unique identities, and store secure electronic delivery addresses. The solution enables timely notifications across care teams, reduces redundant tests and referrals, preserves privacy and compliance through built-in controls, and lays the groundwork for consumer access to electronic health records and cross‑state collaboration.
