Liberty Asia Uses Cutting-Edge Tech to Fight Modern-Day Slavery

Liberty Asia, founded by Duncan Jepson, is a tech-driven nonprofit tackling modern-day slavery across Asia. Confronting widespread problems like forced labour, sex trafficking and poor cross-border record-keeping, the organisation set out to stop victims “falling through the cracks” and to improve information sharing and collaboration among frontline NGOs.

In partnership with Salesforce, Liberty Asia built a secure, cloud-based victim case management system and data collection app that replaces paper and spreadsheets with shared records and analytics. The platform connects 24 NGOs, has processed 1,610 trafficker names and enables 5,200 financial institutions to screen for matches, while pinpointing trafficking hotspots for law enforcement and private-sector action—improving case visibility, targeting interventions and disrupting trafficking supply chains.
