The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a global non-profit serving more than 1,300 member institutions across 116 countries. CIS struggled with an outdated, heavily customized CRM and unreliable mapping that mislocated members, and needed a dynamic solution to keep member data and the public membership directory in sync in real time despite inconsistent international address formats.

CIS implemented Salesforce Community Cloud and Salesforce Maps integrated with Salesforce Lightning, enabling accurate geolocation (with manual pin-drop when needed), rich filtering and a map-based public directory embedded on their website. The result was immediate: higher engagement (average directory session length rose to three minutes), increased staff adoption for quick lookups, positive user feedback, and a clear return on investment through reduced development and maintenance overhead.
