Case Study: Wolverine Worldwide boosts mobile conversions and streamlines checkout with Salesforce Commerce Cloud

A Salesforce Commerce Cloud Case Study

Preview of the Wolverine Worldwide Case Study

Wolverine revolutionizes mobile ecommerce with streamlined checkout experiences

Wolverine Worldwide, a $2.5B multi‑brand footwear company (including Merrell, Saucony, Sperry and Stride Rite), faced a common ecommerce gap: strong mobile traffic but weak mobile orders. Ahead of the 2016 holiday season the company prioritized improving mobile conversion and checkout friction by adopting Apple Pay through its Commerce Cloud platform.

Working with Commerce Cloud and payment partner CyberSource, Wolverine rolled out single‑touch Apple Pay across its shared brand architecture in days. The streamlined checkout (up to 75% fewer fields) drove a 19% lift in total mobile conversion and a 21% lift on iPhone (some brands saw up to 33%), reduced mobile cart abandonment, sped time‑to‑market, and lowered technology costs—while Wolverine plans to expand Apple Pay onto product pages to further simplify mobile purchases.
