Michael Hill, a New Zealand–born jewelry retailer with 289 stores across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.S., needed to bring the in-store personalized shopping experience online. Its previous website lacked best-practice merchandising, marketing, content management, and UX capabilities, so the company selected Commerce Cloud and partnered with Amblique to unify online and in-store experiences and rapidly relaunch multiple country sites simultaneously.
Using Commerce Cloud, Michael Hill built responsive, device-agnostic sites with a personalized charm builder (1,000+ components), shoppable videos, interactive catalogs, ratings/reviews, and social sharing—most features added quickly via the LINK ecosystem. A three-person team now manages five sites, traffic rose 85% and conversion rates more than doubled (Oct 2013–Feb 2014), driving stronger upsell/cross-sell performance and faster time-to-market.
