A Salesforce Commerce Cloud Case Study
Deckers Outdoor Corporation, the California‑based owner of niche footwear brands including UGG, Teva and Sanuk, shifted from a wholesale model toward direct-to-consumer sales and needed to roll out and maintain many localized websites quickly. Its on‑premise ecommerce platform couldn’t support multiple languages, currencies, payment methods and regional merchandising without heavy IT involvement, so the company sought a more flexible, scalable solution to support international expansion.
Deckers adopted Demandware’s cloud commerce platform to deliver localized, mobile‑enabled storefronts and centralized site management. The rollout produced 15 international sites across five brands, enabled fast local launches and supported responsive/mobile growth; results included a 22.6% increase in global ecommerce sales in Q1 2013 year‑over‑year, a ~150% rise in European online sales (2011–2012), triple‑digit UK mobile sales growth and a ~25% increase in revenue per visitor, while creating a foundation for omni‑channel expansion.
