A Sage CRM Case Study
Island Lake Resort Group, a Canadian Rockies operator of wilderness adventures including Cat skiing and heliskiing, operates three resorts and several restaurants with 230 employees. Facing a tripling of back‑country competitors while skier days stayed flat, the Group needed a scalable, web‑based, customizable CRM that would integrate accounting, reservation and POS data so it could market more effectively, improve follow‑up and keep perishable tour seats full.
The Group moved from Sage Simply Accounting to Sage 300 ERP and implemented Sage CRM, integrating third‑party POS and reservation systems to create a shared database of 6,000 customers and 25,000 prospects. By using lead capture, targeted email campaigns and automated tasking, bookings rose substantially (about 10% for Island Lake, 30% for Powder Cowboy and 50% for Mica Heliskiing in one season, with some operations seeing up to 50% annual growth), while Sage 300 ERP eliminated duplicate entry, consolidated reporting and saved staff several days each month.
