Epping Forest District Council’s Legal Services handles a wide range of matters—from planning and licensing to conveyancing and prosecutions—and at any one time can have around 1,000 active cases managed by a team of about a dozen staff. The department needed a reliable way to record and allocate time for cross‑charging other council teams, streamline heavy workloads, formalize processes and meet internal accounting and quality standards.

Tricostar implemented a customized Sage CRM-based Timebase Case Management (TCM) system with case management, time recording and tailored workflow, accessible to about 25 users across the council. The web-based solution centralized documentation, sped up case handling, improved supervisor oversight of hours and helped the team deliver better internal service while retaining Law Society Lexcel accreditation; remote access and future e-archiving plans further support productivity gains.
