AIS, a Dublin-based supplier of end-of-line packaging, labelling, machine vision and barcode systems, had more than half of its 35 employees working in the field and relied on paper processes and Excel spreadsheets that left leads lost and sales managers scrambling to collate information for weekly meetings. The company needed mobile access to customer data and a centralised, complete database to support a growing, mobilised workforce.

AIS implemented Sage CRM (chosen in part due to familiarity with Sage 50), quickly customising workflows so enquiries are assigned to salespeople, assets are tracked and field staff can update records on the go. The result is a cleansed central database of ~2,000 customers and 10,000 prospects, 30-second reporting, reduced paper usage, engineering scheduling visibility and fewer lost leads — improvements the company credits with 30% growth and plans to extend into end-to-end project management.
