HSR.health, a leader in health-focused spatial data analytics, faced the challenge of minimizing the devastating economic and human impact of public-health disasters by providing accurate, business-level insights on real-time virus spread. To build its Business Risk Index (BRI) and move disease tracking into the digital age, HSR.health partnered with SafeGraph and relied on SafeGraph Core Places, Geometry, and Patterns datasets to fill gaps left by public mobility data.

Using SafeGraph data as the backbone of the BRI, HSR.health integrated POI footprint, visitor density, dwell time, and mobility patterns into an interactive dashboard that identifies POI hotspots and ranks business locations by transmission risk. SafeGraph-enabled outputs let officials see total monthly visits, average dwell time, and estimated potential transmissions at the POI level—giving public-health decision makers actionable, real-time, business-specific insights to target interventions and avoid sweeping lockdowns.
