Sony was facing challenges in its electronics division, with losses reported for a decade. To improve retail execution and drive sales in its top European outlets, known as GENBA stores, Sony needed to address issues like poorly displayed products. The company required a way to monitor store conditions closely and gather data on product placement to reverse its fortunes. Sabio, through its company makepositive, provided the solution.
Sabio developed the GENBA mobile app to enable Sony's sales team to perform store audits. The app fed data directly into Salesforce, allowing associates to check product conditions and flag issues. This gave Sony data-driven insights to ensure optimal product display across all stores, with the ultimate goal of increasing sales. The GENBA app was scheduled to go live in mid-February 2015.
