Salesforce, a Fortune 500 cloud-based software company, faced the challenge of engaging its small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) suppliers to set science-based targets and meet its ambitious supply chain decarbonization goals. To support these vendors cost-effectively, Salesforce partnered with RyeStrategy to utilize its SME-focused greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory services as part of its Sustainability Accelerator program.
RyeStrategy implemented a supportive and efficient process, guiding each SME vendor through data collection to produce a complete and accurate GHG footprint. The results were highly successful, with all participating vendors completing their inventories and 88% reporting they would use them to strategize carbon reduction. RyeStrategy's solution enabled Salesforce to make significant progress in reducing its scope 3 emissions while effectively supporting its suppliers.
