Vanilla Air Improves Web Content Localization Efficiency with SDL Translation Management

Vanilla Air, a low‑cost carrier and subsidiary of ANA Holdings, struggled with slow, error‑prone web content localization for its four‑language Drupal sites. The company relied on manual copy‑and‑paste workflows, spreadsheets and email between headquarters and local General Sales Agents (GSAs), a process that consumed heavy staff time, risked confidentiality and could take three months or more to launch a single new language site.

Vanilla Air implemented SDL WorldServer, using its browser‑based online editor, automated workflows and centralized translation memory to streamline translations and control access. The result: manual copy‑and‑paste tasks were eliminated, localization workload dropped by about 75%, translation consistency improved (TM leveraged ~30%), GSAs could work directly in an easy interface after training, and new language sites launched in half the time (e.g., Vietnamese site in 1.5 months) with overall speed gains of up to 200%.
