UK’s Leading Independent Law Publisher Sets Trend in Next Generation Dynamic Publishing Model

Jordan Publishing, the UK’s leading independent law publisher known for titles like Family Court Practice (“The Red Book”), faced the challenge of moving vast, highly cross‑referenced legal content online while preserving complex indexing, tabular layouts and subscription entitlements. Changing customer expectations meant the company needed a searchable, subscription‑aware system that could present only entitled content, handle links between publications, and support rapid updates traditionally managed in large loose‑leaf print volumes.

Working with Letterpart and SDL, Jordan migrated Word documents into an XML workflow (using SDL XPP) and deployed SDL Tridion Docs for dynamic, standards‑based delivery. The new platform enabled intelligent content linking, subscription‑aware search and on‑the‑fly updates, speeding publication, improving findability and user experience, creating opportunities to upsell subscriptions and paving the way for mobile access and bespoke digital publishing.
