Microchip Technology Inc., a global semiconductor and embedded control solutions provider operating in 100+ countries, faced mounting content challenges as its product portfolio and documentation footprint grew to tens of thousands of publications. With distributed teams and legacy tooling (FrameMaker), content creation and review cycles were becoming slow and inconsistent, making it hard to maintain technical accuracy and deliver timely datasheets, user guides and application notes.

Working with RWS, Microchip implemented Tridion Docs, adopted by 1,200 engineers and writers, and developed a custom publication generator and XML-to-DITA integrations to automate project setup and conversions. The result: content reuse of ~50% in user guides and 33–60% in datasheets, project start times cut from 15–20 minutes to 2–5 minutes, and up to 70% faster datasheet creation—leading to faster reviews, higher document quality and a more efficient, scalable documentation process.
