A RWS Case Study
The Würth Group, a global market leader in assembly and fastening materials with more than 400 companies in 80 countries and a catalog of over 125,000 products, faced a growing translation challenge: decentralized national subsidiaries produced inconsistent, slow and costly translations (sometimes up to five different names for one product), leaving many local online shops outdated and unable to handle rising content volumes or enforce company-wide terminology.
Würth implemented a central PIM (Stibo Systems) and partnered with RWS to connect the PIM to a web-based TMS (WorldServer) via an automated FTP workflow, using shared translation memories and a review loop to update content and the TM. The result is a highly automated, centrally controlled translation process that localizes master data in 43 languages and marketing content in 26, manages terminology in 26 languages, supports localization for 60+ shops, translates ~10 million words per year, reduces duplicate work and speeds up delivery while improving consistency and quality.
