Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Adopts a Structured Approach to Content

Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare, a Shanghai-based developer of advanced medical imaging products, tasked its Technical Communication Center with producing user and service manuals for more than 100 products and translating them for global markets. The team struggled with an unstructured authoring approach and manual release processes, which caused duplicated work, inconsistent content and repeated translation submissions, prompting a move to a structured manual development model.

United Imaging partnered with SDL (now RWS) and deployed Tridion Docs alongside Trados and Passolo, rolling out structured content in phased stages with content modeling, style guides and defined workflows. The solution centralized authoring, review, storage, publishing and translation, delivering modular, consistent content, faster multi-channel publishing and reduced translation time and costs, significantly improving manual development efficiency.
