A RWS Case Study
Made-in-china.com (MIC) is a leading B2B e‑commerce platform with 13.8 million registered users, over 30 million Chinese products, 11 in‑country online stores and about 100,000 daily visitors. Facing a massive, fast‑growing volume of product content, MIC’s manual, repetitive localization processes were time‑consuming, error‑prone and not scalable—posing risks to SEO, user experience and conversion rates.
MIC partnered with SDL (now Language Weaver) to deploy a customized, high‑quality machine translation solution, trained and tuned for their e‑commerce terminology and architecture. In about a month they rolled out a stable, scalable system that has translated more than 360 billion characters into 100 languages, produced industry glossaries, cut manual labor and costs, and improved site quality, SEO, engagement and conversion while handling 800M–1.2B product characters per day.
