A RWS Case Study
National Instruments (NI) designs measurement, automation and embedded systems and sells its LabVIEW software and modular hardware to more than 25,000 companies worldwide. Because its products and documentation are highly technical, NI kept localization in-house but suffered an average four-month delay between English launches and local-language releases, threatening revenue and brand consistency.
NI implemented SDL Trados Studio with SDL MultiTerm and SDL PerfectMatch, used by an in‑house team of about 40 translators and integrated with its CMS. The translation memory and terminology management enabled context-accurate reuse, eliminated the four-month delay (allowing about 1.5 million words to be released simultaneously in five languages plus English), achieved roughly 70% reuse on new content, improved consistency and reduced translation time and cost.
