A RWS Case Study
Raytheon Technologies, a global aerospace and defense leader, relies on a 30-year publishing system relationship to produce and maintain the Patriot missile technical library—more than 30,000 pages of complex instructions used across 13 foreign military customers. To meet company security policies and ensure continued delivery of time-sensitive maintenance and repair content, Raytheon needed to move its XML Professional Publisher (XPP) solution to a new operating platform.
RWS upgraded Raytheon’s XPP to Version 9.4 running on Linux (eight cores), maintaining a long-term partnership that combines product support, development and sales familiarity with Raytheon’s requirements. The solution enables critical updates 2–3 times per year across 13 countries (typically 20,000–40,000 pages changed per update) and positions the team to adopt new direct-to-PDF capabilities that could yield an estimated 300% throughput productivity gain.
