A RWS Case Study
Crazy Factory, the leading online shop for body piercings, jewelry and accessories, ships over 80,000 products worldwide and serves customers in up to 40 languages. Rapid growth, a variety of source systems (marketing platforms, databases, Google Docs and spreadsheets) and ad-hoc translations done in a homemade tool or by email — without central translation memories or terminology — made it hard to get product copy online quickly while maintaining consistent quality across locales.
After evaluating solutions, Crazy Factory implemented SDL Trados Studio and SDL Trados GroupShare and redesigned workflows to handle all file types and versioned content. The centralized translation environment and automated project management sped time-to-market, reduced workload for in‑country teams, and raised average first‑time translation quality from 75% to 95%, while providing flexible architecture and easy access to accurate translations.
