A RWS Case Study
MAN Truck & Bus, a leading European transport-engineering company, needed to deliver technical documentation, diagnostics and after-sales content in up to 35 languages worldwide. Their in‑house translation setup was decentralized and manual (Lotus Notes), lacked a consolidated translation memory, was costly and slow, and made consistent terminology and transparent budgeting across departments difficult.
MAN implemented a centralized language platform with SDL (WorldServer, Trados) and integrated it with content management systems and SAP SRM, creating an automated workflow and centrally managed translation memories. The result: a single, measurable process that handles ~28 million words a year (only ~13 million new), enforces consistent terminology, speeds invoicing and budgeting, and is used by ~750 internal clients—significantly improving quality and efficiency.
