Lectra, a Paris-based technology company serving 25,000+ customers in 100+ countries, needed to keep specialist terminology consistent across more than 30 languages. Relying on a slow, hard-to-search Excel glossary led to fragmented local glossaries and inconsistent translations, creating quality and efficiency challenges for documentation, marketing and technical teams.

Lectra built a customized terminology portal, Lectrapedia, on SDL MultiTerm Online and integrated it into SDL Trados project packages. The validated termbase grew from ~1,000 to 5,000 terms with bilingual definitions, images and contextual info, and is now used company-wide and in training — improving translation quality, speeding project preparation, strengthening relationships with vendors and lowering translation costs.
