A RWS Case Study
Kayentis, a global eCOA and decentralized clinical trial solutions provider, partnered with RWS, a language services and linguistic validation expert, to implement seven patient-facing clinical outcome assessments (COAs) for a high‑priority Global Phase II small cell lung cancer study. The project required migration of COAs into Kayentis’ Clin’form on ten‑inch tablets for ~100 sites, translations into 26 languages, paper versions for PGIC/PGIS, and adherence to tight regulatory/IRB and first‑patient‑in deadlines—complicated further by instrument developer reviews, a last‑minute FACT‑GP5 process change, and the teams supporting a new joint client relationship.
To meet the deadline the partners ran an integrated start‑up with a shared timelines tracker, rapid questionnaire design (electronic versions created within two business days and reference language approved in two weeks), synchronized translation and eCOA development, and weekly alignment meetings to prioritize deliveries. Fast developer reviews and coordinated rework meant most languages gained first‑time approval, the platform went live for first‑patient inclusion on schedule, and final study materials were delivered earlier than quoted—often 8–28 business days ahead of timeline.
