A RWS Case Study
Intralox, a global leader in modular plastic conveyor belting, consolidated its Technical Communications Group to improve how it produces and maintains long, complex manuals for customers worldwide. Despite centralizing writers, documentation remained fragmented across separate systems, causing frequent updates, rising desktop publishing and translation costs, and forced copy‑and‑paste reuse even though an audit showed 87% of content was reusable — so the team needed a cloud‑based, translation‑integrated CCMS and selected Tridion Docs.
Working with Content Rules, Intralox adopted DITA, modeled content into components with metadata and workflows, and implemented Tridion Docs (with Oxygen XML Author and Collective Spaces) to centralize authoring and reviews. The change enabled single‑source reuse, streamlined collaboration, and immediate efficiency gains: a 99% reduction in annual DTP costs, 79% translation savings, 3x greater productivity versus non‑Tridion users, consolidated content management, and reduced IT overhead, with plans to expand web delivery and SME authoring.
