How GTA Grew Its Global Travel Content While Cutting Costs

GTA, part of Kuoni’s Global Travel Services, is a B2B provider that sells 12 million room nights across 145 countries and processes over six million words of travel content annually. Facing an overwhelmed in‑house translation system and heavy reliance on external translators, the company needed a faster, cheaper way to localize tens of thousands of hotel and product descriptions, including non‑English and third‑party content, to support rapid international expansion.

GTA implemented SDL WorldServer to centralize translation memory and workflows and SDL BeGlobal for machine translation with targeted post‑editing and TrustScore prioritization. Within six months GTA cut human translation costs by about 33% and achieved a further ~30% savings with BeGlobal, reduced dependence on external linguists, and now translates only content that has proven demand in a target language—enabling faster, lower‑cost market expansion.
