A RWS Case Study
Harris Corporation is a global communications and information technology company with roughly $5 billion in annual revenue and about 15,000 employees. As the company expanded internationally, web publishing became a bottleneck—IT controlled the site and business owners could not update content themselves—so Harris needed a platform-agnostic CMS that could manage multiple sites and languages and hand content creation and publishing to the business teams.
Harris selected SDL Tridion and began a phased rollout in 2008, using Content Porter for migration and Tridion’s Blueprint and multilingual capabilities for future translations. The new system gave marketers the ability to publish and correct content themselves, cut demands on IT, ensure template-based consistency, and accelerate multi-language rollout; planned integrations (InDesign connector, outbound email) promise further time and cost savings.
