A RWS Case Study
eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre, a Hong Kong non-profit that helps businesses and legal teams resolve cross-border disputes, faced a growing need to translate large volumes of sensitive legal documents securely and accurately. Free online translators imposed file-size limits, lacked legal-domain accuracy and exposed confidential arbitration materials to risk—issues that became critical with Hong Kong’s Arbitration Ordinance (Chapter 609) tightening confidentiality requirements.
To solve this, eBRAM partnered with RWS to deploy an on‑premises Language Weaver Edge translation portal integrated into their platform and offered by subscription to client legal teams. The portal supports broad language coverage, adapted MT engines for legal terminology, optional human translation, and secure uploads up to 100MB; as a result it now handles 90% of eBRAM’s translation needs via machine translation, improving speed, compliance and user adoption.
