Driving Sales by Turning to SDL Tridion Docs and Structured Content Management

DAF Trucks, a PACCAR subsidiary and leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, sells exclusively through about 1,000 dealers across Europe and faced a major sales-support challenge: dealers spent as much as 80% of their time searching for or recreating product information, often using inconsistent, outdated or unavailable content across multiple markets, languages and product variations. The company needed a single, trusted source of timely, localized sales information that could integrate with back-end pricing systems and be easily accessed via the dealer ePortal.

DAF implemented XML structured authoring with Tridion Docs and RWS language technologies (Language Cloud, MultiTerm, Language Weaver), creating a single-source, reusable content repository that pushes content automatically for translation and web publication. The result: accurate, dynamically tailored product and pricing information across 52 markets and 10–14 languages while maintaining the same headcount (a three-person team manages content), enabling dealers to spend more time selling, reducing costs and delivering a consistent, improved customer experience.
