The Share Centre needed a fully featured mobile share-dealing service that matched the functionality, security and regulatory standards of its desktop site but worked across the full device spectrum — including Blackberry — after finding that native apps were expensive, had security concerns and were limited to iPhone and Android. The brief called for a cross-platform, secure, app-like experience that integrated seamlessly with the existing trading platform and delivered fast, modern user journeys.

SDL delivered a mobile web app installed within The Share Centre’s secure infrastructure and integrated with desktop data (prices, volumes and user accounts), enabling customers to search, buy and sell shares from any internet-enabled device without downloading an app. The solution met financial security requirements, featured device-specific designs, fast load times and high usability, and has exceeded expectations — during busy periods up to 10% of deals come from mobile and mobile trading continues to grow.
