A RWS Case Study
Cupid Media, an online dating company, faced the challenge of breaking down language barriers for its global user base as it expanded. To provide a seamless experience for its millions of users to connect and communicate, it turned to vendor SDL for a machine translation solution, initially implementing their on-premise software and later upgrading to the SDL BeGlobal cloud platform.
SDL implemented its SDL BeGlobal SaaS solution, an adaptive machine translation platform powered by its XMT technology, which integrates via an API to translate user profiles and real-time messages. The solution proved to be highly reliable and scalable, translating 70 million words per month and supporting Cupid Media's growth to 36 sites, 44 language pairs, 2.5 million active monthly users, and 50 million messages sent each month. SDL provided a cost-effective service that required no support intervention, allowing the customer to focus on its core business.
