Panasonic System Networks’ Office Products Business Division, a global supplier of PBX systems, multi-function printers and scanners, faced growing pressure as export activity increased. Its bespoke automatic authoring system was costly to maintain, hard to use and could not reuse content across product lines, meaning each product had separate translation memories and the division struggled to produce clear, usable manuals in the expanding number of target languages.

The division implemented RWS (formerly SDL) Tridion Docs with DITA topic-based authoring, Antenna House Formatter and integrated translation management software. The new, centralized workflow enabled topic reuse, applied translation memory and terminology management, automated localization tasks and provided auditability—reducing manual localization costs, improving usability and quality of documentation, and making it straightforward to add new languages as the business grows.
