Bird, a leader in electric micromobility operating in 350+ cities, needed to improve the linguistic and cultural quality of its mobile app across seven priority languages (Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) while also making the translation process faster and easier to manage. The company wanted both better translations and a frictionless software workflow to reduce manual work for its in-market teams.

Bird partnered with Lokalise to centralize and automate the localization workflow and with RWS for professional translation, linguistic QA, in‑context review and terminology/style guides. The integrated setup delivers translations automatically into the app, enabling weekly releases with 3–4 day turnarounds (24‑hour for urgent jobs), about 57,000 words translated per month, measurable linguistic improvements and substantial time savings for Bird’s teams.
