A RWS Case Study
Belkin, a global manufacturer of technology accessories, faced significant localization challenges as it expanded into new markets. Its small team struggled to manage the translation of vast amounts of content into 28 languages using an outdated system, while a separate move to Adobe InDesign CS5 introduced new, unsupported file formats. To support its surging global business, Belkin partnered with the vendor SDL to find a modern solution.
SDL implemented its WorldServer translation management system and SDL Trados Studio. This solution provided a web-based platform for centralized management of translation assets, support for new file formats like .IDML, and customizable automated workflows. The results were substantial, including a 90% cost saving on a recent translation project, faster time to market, and dramatically improved productivity for both Belkin's internal creative teams and its external translation supply chain.
