How Cancer Council replaced manual processes with automations to reach new fundraising heights

Cancer Council Victoria, organiser of the large-scale Daffodil Day fundraiser involving around 1,600–1,800 volunteers across 250 sites, was constrained by manual spreadsheets and outdated processes that drained staff time and resources. To modernise volunteer management they implemented Rosterfy’s centralised volunteer management platform and automations technology to replace manual rostering and communications.

Rosterfy delivered automated scheduling, specialised training guides, a 24-hour portal and an automated messaging system to improve engagement and streamline administration. As a result, Cancer Council Victoria reduced roster administration staff from 6 to 4, freed remaining staff to focus on events and fundraising, and saw measurable increases in volunteer engagement and retention — helping the charity reach new fundraising heights.
