A Robin Case Study

The University of Chicago empowers students and faculty with flexible space booking

Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago struggled to manage seven media editing suites used around the clock by a few hundred faculty and students. Scheduling was manual and top-down (Excel, email, hotline), which led to double bookings, abandoned reservations, and complaints — so David Wolf turned to Robin for a more user-friendly, real-time solution.

Robin deployed Kindle Fire tablets outside each suite and promoted the Robin mobile app in orientations and signage, enabling real-time availability, ad-hoc booking, and a 15-minute check-in abandoned-meeting protection. The Robin implementation eliminated double bookings, reclaimed unused time slots, put students in control of reservations, and gave David actionable usage data to plan capacity and justify budgeting.
