Dell, a leading global computer maker, relied on a basic feed tool that limited visibility and control over its comparison shopping engine (CSE) program. Sending feeds to about 20 CSEs, the marketing team could only turn feeds on or off and lacked the daily performance data needed to manage profitability—so Dell sought a solution it could implement quickly ahead of the holiday season.
Dell partnered with ChannelAdvisor Digital Marketing and Managed Services to deploy a Merchandising Engine and rule-based feed optimization, tracking metrics like cost per order, ROAS and margin to add or remove products and promotions by CSE. The switch expanded Dell’s footprint to 40+ feeds in time for Q4, more than doubled CSE traffic year over year, and grew holiday sales through the channel while maintaining marketing efficiency.
